So I had wine after dinner and Danny and I talked about work and appreciating opportunities in life, growing kids and parenting, our family and life back home, plans and goals, you know, the usual stuff, until I noticed that we were discussing stuff that we don’t normally talk about when we’re sober just because, let’s face it, there are things that we are just not yet comfortable to talk about with other people, even with those closest to our hearts for some reasons. Most of us know, at least for those of us who drink occasionally, that when we’ve consumed a certain amount of alcohol, our minds start to cloud, we lose our inhibitions, and we suddenly find ourselves opening up to other people. We surprisingly express our “self” more clearly and bravely to another person and we also find ourselves more receptive to what the other person has to say. Yes, sometimes, good conversations happen in between glasses of wine. That is, of course, if we are not too intoxicated to notice. My point for this week’s challenge is, it is sometimes during hazy times that vivid realizations come to us. I think I had too much wine.
